SCIENCE AND INNOVATION CENTER
TICKET PURCHASE AND USAGE RULES
I. GENERAL INFORMATION
- To visit the Science and Innovation Center (hereinafter referred to as the Center), it is necessary to purchase a Center ticket. Some events may have additional charges. Information about this is provided in the descriptions of respective events on the Center’s website: https://mokslosala.lt/.
- Tickets for the Center, planetarium sessions, laboratory activities, or events can be purchased at the Center’s ticket offices, self-service terminals, or on the website //bilietai.mokslosala.lt.
- Tickets are non-exchangeable and non-refundable, except in cases where the visit was not possible or the event was canceled due to the Center’s fault.
- If a visit to the Center was not possible or the event was canceled due to the Center’s fault, tickets can be returned at the ticket office. To receive a refund, the purchased tickets and the purchase receipt must be presented at the ticket office.
II. RULES FOR PURCHASING TICKETS ON THE WEBSITE
- Tickets for the Center can be purchased online wherever there is an internet connection. Payments are processed through the Paysera.lt payment system. The available payment methods include most Lithuanian banks’ online banking services as well as debit and credit cards.
- When purchasing a ticket on //bilietai.mokslosala.lt, the visitor must ensure that they have selected the correct date, visitor categories, and the number of tickets.
- When purchasing tickets online, children up to and including 2 years old do not need to be checked out. Children up to and including 2 years old are admitted to the Center free of charge at the control points.
- After selecting the tickets, the visitor must enter the required information as requested by the system, verify the cart details, ensure that they are correct, and agree to the Center’s ticket purchase and usage terms for the payment to be processed.
- If the “Invoice Required” option is selected, an electronic invoice will be generated based on the provided personal or company details and sent to the visitor’s specified email address.
- Payment is processed through the Paysera.lt payment system.
- Upon receiving confirmation from Paysera.lt about a successful payment, e-tickets are sent to the visitor via email.
- A visitor who is a consumer does not have the right to withdraw from a remotely concluded contract (i.e., return tickets purchased online), as tickets are sold for a specific date and/or time.
III. RULES FOR PURCHASING TICKETS AT SELF-SERVICE TERMINALS
- A visitor purchasing a ticket at a self-service terminal must ensure that they have selected the correct ticket category and quantity.
- After selecting the tickets, the visitor is responsible for verifying the cart details and ensuring that they are correct.
- If an invoice is required, the visitor must print the payment receipt at the self-service terminal and contact the ticket office staff.
- Refunds are not available for tickets purchased at self-service terminals. If a refund is required (when there is a valid reason as specified in these rules), the visitor must fill out a refund request form. The refund request form is issued at the Center’s ticket offices.
- Tickets for aditional events, guided tours, and educational programs held at the Center are not available for purchase at self-service terminals.
IV. RULES FOR USING TICKETS
- Visitors are only admitted to the Center or events at the Center with a valid ticket.
- If a visitor arrives at the Center with an e-ticket, they must present a printed e-ticket or the e-ticket’s barcode on their mobile device at the control point. The visitor is responsible for ensuring mobile internet access and/or other means to display each barcode.
- The e-ticket can be scanned only once and is valid for one person only. The control system registers the date and time of the first scan. If the e-ticket is scanned a second time, the visitor will not be admitted.
- Tickets for visiting the Center can be presented at both the Center’s ticket offices and self-service terminals.
- The ticket is only valid for the specified visit or event on the designated date and time. A visitor who leaves the designated area covered by the Center ticket will not be re-admitted with the same ticket.
- When purchasing tickets for an exhibition, a specific time is assigned. The ticket is scanned at the entrance gates and remains valid for 30 minutes before the scheduled time (giving a total arrival window of 1 hour).
- If a ticket is purchased at a discounted rate, the visitor must present an identification document or other proof of eligibility for the discount at the control point. If the visitor cannot provide such documentation, they must pay the price difference between the standard ticket price and the discounted ticket price at the Center’s ticket office.
V. FINAL PROVISIONS
- We strive to resolve all disputes amicably. Therefore, if you have any complaints, please contact the Center via email at info@mokslosala.lt.
- The Center is not responsible for any damage incurred by visitors or third parties if the visitor has not complied with these Rules or the laws of the Republic of Lithuania.
- These Rules are approved, amended, and supplemented at the discretion of the Center’s director.
SCIENCE ISLAND VISITOR RULES
I. GENERAL PROVISIONS
- The visitor rules of the Science and Innovation Dissemination Center “Science Island” (hereinafter referred to as Science Island) (hereinafter referred to as the Rules) regulate the visitor service procedures and visitor behavior during the visit.
II. TICKET PURCHASE PROCEDURE
- Visitors are admitted only during Science Island’s working hours, having purchased tickets before visiting the exhibitions, attending educational activities, or planetarium sessions. Ticket offices close 1 hour before Science Island’s closing time.
- Payment for tickets and other services can be made in cash, by bank card, bank transfer, or online banking (in specific cases, under signed agreements).
- Visitors can purchase tickets at Science Island ticket offices, self-service terminals, and online at https://bilietai.mokslosala.lt.
- Visitors must keep their tickets throughout their visit to Science Island and present them to an authorized employee upon request.
- Science Island’s admission fees and discounts are approved by a separate order of the manager. Science Island reserves the right to apply special short-term discounts (promotions), which are formalized by the manager’s order and announced through Science Island’s information channels (social media, website, telephone).
- Individuals wishing to purchase a discounted or free admission ticket to Science Island must present a document proving their eligibility for the discount to the ticket office employee before purchasing the ticket. If the required document is not presented, the discount does not apply. Visitors may be asked to present the relevant document along with the discounted ticket at any time during their visit. Discounted tickets are valid only for the person who purchased them and cannot be transferred to others.
- Purchased tickets are non-refundable, except in cases where a visit is not possible due to Science Island’s fault or if an event does not take place.
- Refunds are not issued for tickets in force majeure circumstances (Civil Code Article 6.212, Part 1).
- Information about services and prices is available at Science Island ticket offices or via email at kasos@mokslosala.lt and on the website www.mokslosala.lt.
III. SCIENCE ISLAND WORKING HOURS
- Science Island’s working hours are approved by the Science Island manager’s order.
- Science Island reserves the right to change working hours, close parts of the exhibition (due to maintenance, exhibitions, exhibition setups, events, etc.). Visitors are informed in advance via Science Island’s website www.mokslosala.lt, at ticket offices, through informational signs within the premises, and other channels.
IV. SCIENCE ISLAND RIGHTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Science Island undertakes to:
- Provide visitors with necessary, accurate, detailed, and clear information about available services, their prices, and other relevant details influencing the visitor’s decision to use the service.
- Provide visitors with the purchased service in compliance with legal requirements and these Rules.
- Ensure that Science Island employees serving visitors comply with internal regulations and respect visitor rights.
- Science Island has the right to:
- Take necessary measures as prescribed by the laws of the Republic of Lithuania if there is a threat to visitors’ lives or health.
- Ask visitors who do not follow the visitation rules to leave the premises, verbally warn them, or, in case of violations, call the police or security. In such cases, ticket fees are non-refundable.
- Interrupt an educational session or planetarium show if visitors disrupt it, fail to follow staff instructions, or behave inappropriately. Such visitors may be removed, and ticket fees are non-refundable.
- Terminate a visit if there is or may be a threat to the visitor’s or accompanying persons’ health or life.
- Apply additional fees for permission to photograph or film Science Island premises and exhibitions using professional equipment.
V. VISITOR RIGHTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Science Island visitors have the right to:
- Receive information about Science Island’s working hours, services, and fees.
- Visit the chosen exhibition, educational session, or planetarium show with a valid ticket during working hours.
- Take photographs and videos for personal, non-commercial use without using a flash, professional photography equipment, additional lighting, stands, tripods, drones, or other devices that may disturb other visitors. Filming or photographing other visitors without their consent is prohibited.
- Report inappropriate staff behavior or poor service quality to Science Island administration.
- Submit suggestions and feedback regarding Science Island’s visitor regulations (via email: info@mokslosala.lt).
- Consume their own food and beverages only in designated areas (cafeterias).
- Science Island visitors must:
- Children under 14 years old must be accompanied by an adult.
- Groups of minors must have an accompanying adult (1 adult per 15 visitors).
- Not leave children under 14 years old unattended.
- Parents or accompanying adults must supervise children throughout the visit to ensure their safety and protect exhibits and equipment.
- Inform a responsible Science Island employee immediately about any actions or incidents that may have caused or did cause damage to Science Island exhibits, visitor health, life, or property.
- Follow warning signs, instructions, and other visitor-related notices, fire safety signals, and verbal instructions from Science Island employees.
- Respect other visitors and not interfere with their visit.
- Use exhibits and equipment safely, avoid conflicts with other visitors and staff.
- Ensure the security of personal belongings—backpacks, large bags, and other items must be left in storage lockers. Outerwear and umbrellas must be left in the cloakroom. Visitors must keep their locker tokens and keys safe. If lost, Science Island administration may require compensation for damages.
VI. PROHIBITED ACTIVITIES FOR VISITORS AT MOKSLO SALA
- Visitors under the influence of alcohol, narcotic, or other psychotropic substances are not allowed to enter Mokslo Sala. A cashier suspecting that a visitor is intoxicated has the right to refuse to sell a ticket, and staff members serving visitors have the right to refuse service and ask intoxicated visitors to leave the premises of Mokslo Sala.
- Individuals carrying weapons, dangerous objects, explosives, flammable substances, or alcoholic beverages, as well as those behaving aggressively, brutally, or posing a threat to other visitors, are not allowed inside the Mokslo Sala building. Staff members have the right to refuse service to such individuals, ask them to leave the premises, or call security.
- Persons with roller skates, scooters, bicycles, or skateboards are not allowed inside Mokslo Sala.
- The following activities are prohibited for visitors at Mokslo Sala:
- Damaging or breaking Mokslo Sala equipment, exhibits, or any other property, including the building and infrastructure.
- Conducting independent tours in the exhibition areas or other premises of Mokslo Sala—such services may only be provided by Mokslo Sala staff.
- Bypassing protective barriers, entering staff-only areas or other restricted spaces.
- Bringing food or drinks, whether in open or closed containers, into the Planetarium.
- Eating or drinking inside Mokslo Sala, except in designated areas.
- Entering Mokslo Sala wearing excessively dirty clothing or footwear that may damage the exhibition premises, exhibits, or other visitors’ property.
- Smoking inside Mokslo Sala.
- Littering inside Mokslo Sala.
- Destroying, damaging, defacing, or otherwise harming any movable or immovable property within Mokslo Sala, including the belongings of other visitors.
- Bringing animals into the premises of Mokslo Sala.
- The following activities are prohibited in the outdoor areas of Mokslo Sala:
- Destroying, damaging, defacing, or otherwise harming any movable or immovable property, including the belongings of other visitors.
- Littering or otherwise polluting the environment.
- Destroying or damaging vegetation—cutting, damaging, or removing trees, bushes, or flower beds without authorization.
- Bringing and/or consuming alcoholic beverages, narcotic, or psychotropic substances.
- Smoking in areas where no-smoking signs are posted.
- Damaging, removing, or relocating informational signs, stands, boundary markers, flags, or fire safety equipment without authorization.
- Using fireworks (except in cases approved in advance by Mokslo Sala administration), confetti, or other products that pollute or pose a risk to the environment.
- Endangering the safety of others.
- Posting temporary advertisements, posters, or directional signs without the permission of Mokslo Sala management.
- Organizing petition campaigns and/or engaging in anti-government agitation.
- Making noise or disrupting performances during Planetarium sessions, as well as walking around during the show.
- Bringing food and drinks into the Planetarium.
- Touching, moving, or otherwise damaging Planetarium projection and control equipment.
- Entering restricted areas behind barriers or partitions in the Planetarium.
- Re-entering the Planetarium after leaving during a session.
VII. FINAL PROVISIONS
- These Rules apply to all visitors of Mokslo Sala.
- Compliance with the visitation rules is monitored by Mokslo Sala administration, ticket office staff, exhibition employees, and other personnel serving visitors.
- To ensure security, the exhibition area, common spaces, and other premises of Mokslo Sala are monitored by surveillance cameras.
- Visitors are liable for any damage caused by failure to comply with these Rules. Mokslo Sala reserves the right to demand compensation in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Lithuania.
- Mokslo Sala is not responsible for any damage suffered by visitors or third parties due to the visitor’s failure to comply with these Rules or the laws of the Republic of Lithuania.
- Payment for services and the issuance of a payment confirmation document (ticket or other document), or entry into Mokslo Sala premises by other approved means, constitutes the visitor’s unconditional agreement to comply with these Rules.
- Upon submission of a written complaint detailing the circumstances in a clear and detailed manner, Mokslo Sala commits to providing a response within 20 working days.
- These Rules are approved, amended, supplemented, and repealed by order of the Director of Mokslo Sala.
