N2 Weekend Science Show + Human. Nature. Machine Exhibition

Throughout October weekends, we invite you to visit Lithuania’s largest permanent exhibition – Human. Nature. Machine – featuring 140 interactive exhibits, and to enjoy unexpected discoveries during the N2 weekend science shows.

Our partners, N2, have accompanied all major events at Science Island since its opening. Seeing your excitement and joy as you discover science during their performances, we decided not to wait for special occasions but to expand the Science Island weekend program with new, never-before-seen shows presented by professional physicists.

In October, the N2 laboratory will surprise Science Island visitors with a premiere: Transformations. Over the course of an academic hour, you will witness the power of extreme cold, seeing how ordinary household objects take on completely different properties after exposure to temperatures as low as -196°C. You will also explore the effects of vacuum and pressure and learn what would happen to human lungs under the influence of these forces.

Fun experiments with hydrogen gas and nitrogen await you, and the bravest among you will even have the chance to experiment firsthand.

The N2 weekend science show is part of the visit to the permanent exhibition.The recommended visit duration is 2-3 hours. During this time, you will learn more about the human body and health, food, nature and the environment, waste and pollution, energy, transport, and communication. Here, you will gain a fresh perspective on yourself, the world around us, and technology, while discovering how even the smallest daily decisions can influence global progress.
