Science Island is Lithuania’s first Science and Innovation Promotion Centre. With a permanent exhibition of 140 interactive installations, a state-of-the-art planetarium, emerging STEAM laboratories, and various cultural and educational activities.

The mission of the centre is to spark curiosity and inspire experimentation by connecting genuine science with entertainment, challenging the myth that enjoyment and value are mutually exclusive.
Designed for families, it invites visitors of all ages to explore, make mistakes, and rediscover a love for science through innovative methods. What if we knew more?
We are proud of our surroundings, too. Science Island’s concept emerged from an international architectural competition that attracted 145 participants. The winning design, The Sun Never Sets for Science, came from SMAR Architecture Studio, a boutique Spanish-Australian company, supported locally by Gintautas Natkevičius’s team.
And why the Nemunas Island? It became clear only when construction began. The soil was found to be full of buried waste: synthetic sweaters, detergent bottles, metal scraps, tires, concrete blocks, and other decades-old rubbish. This discovery turned the site into a symbolic part of our long-term exhibition, Nature. Human. Machine. Science Island places visitors at its centre, reminding us of the growing impacts of consumption-related decisions. Every choice we make shapes the future. What if we knew more?

Brand Identity
The creators of Science Island’s visual identity are the ACID design studio duo, Julius Seniūnas and Rokas Sutkaitis. Their main inspiration came from SMAR Architecture Studio’s project, The Sun Never Sets for Science, and the themes of science and innovation. At the core of their design lies the point and circle, whose compositional solutions seamlessly blend into the overall harmony of the Science Island brand.
