Ultraviolet light detective
Biology-Chemistry Laboratory
Get ready to embark on a mysterious journey into the invisible world of plants, where you will become ultraviolet light detectives and discover a remarkable property of plants – fluorescence.
Did you know that some flowers glow to protect plants from pests? Why do glowing substances appear on our plates? What helps the human eye perceive fluorescence? What do studies that explore this unique phenomenon reveal?
During the session, you will learn that ultraviolet light, photons, and quanta of light are. You will investigate fluorescence and how different materials absorb and emit energy. You will also discover how plant compounds, food products, and everyday materials glow under UV light, compare color spectra, and search for answers to the questions raised above.
Step into the role of a researcher and uncover the invisible, surprise-filled world of nature and everyday life.
You will be able to try this activity from April 18.
